We are really excited about this summer at RCC! We’ll have some events for all ages, and we look forward to seeing you and your “ones!” Check out the calendar below, print one off for your fridge, keep it handy, share it with others, and make sure you show up for some fun!!
All of the events are designed for the entire family. So, yes, students should bring their parents!
Camp Create is back this year. If you have not yet signed up your elementary-age child to attend, do so today before we are all filled up! You can find more information by clicking here! If you are a teenager and would like to serve as a leader, please contact Amy Snyder today.
Our Summer Kick-Off will be at Field of Dreams from 4:00-8:00 PM, which will include life-size board games, competitions, and food. We’ll wrap up the evening with some outdoor worship time starting at 6:00, including a band full of RCC students and adults. We’ll also have a brief Gospel message especially designed to help your “ones” understand Jesus. The event is completely FREE. We’ll be providing some main dishes, but we are asking that if your last name starts with A-I, bring desserts; H-Q, bring chips; and R-Z, bring sides and salads. Click here to RSVP.
Each of the Student Ministry Worship Nights are from 6:00-8:00 PM at RCC, and they are designed for both 6-12th graders AND parents! We’ll also have some food, games, music, and a Gospel-centered message each night. Again, these events are free, but we will have a donation box for those who want to help out with the cost of food and other expenses (like the band we have booked on August 6).
Our annual family camping trip is something many families look forward to attending each year. For more information on how to sign up, contact Amy Snyder today!
We’ll be providing more details soon regarding the exact time and location for our Fall Kick-Off event. For now, mark your calendars!
workcampNE is a week-long service-based mission trip designed for high school students, college students, and adults. Not only will you connect with others, but you will reach out and serve people in need. Students and adults from several churches come together for a week of serving, worship, and connection. Projects include painting, roofing, deck building, cleaning, etc.
For an idea of what happens at workcampNE, check out the 2015 recap video.
Who can go? Any student currently in 8th grade through college and any adult.
What are the dates? July 9-15, 2017
Where are we going? Springfield, VT
What is the overall cost? $375 (Below are some guidelines to help you break it down each month. The only 2 we are strictly enforcing are the February 14 deposit and the May 22 final cost.)
- February 14 – $75 (this locks you in as your non-refundable deposit)
- March 15 – $100
- April 19 – $100
- May 22 – $100
We will do some fundraising to help with the cost. The are primarily to help students, who will most likely need more help with the cost than adults, but adults are definitely invited to join in as well. Below is a list of the fundraisers we are planning.
- January 6, 13, 20, 27: Babysitting for Grow Electives (4-week classes at RCC) – This is optional, but each team member who helps will get approximately $75 to go to their trip (exact amount TBD).
- Selling drinks at Easter Egg Hunts – This is an optional fundraiser, and all the funds raised will be split between those participating.
- RCC’s Got Talent & Silent Auction (6-8 PM) (Time commitment is 5-9 PM @ RCC) – This event is required for everyone attending, and the primary purpose is to raise funds for our transportation. DATE: TBD.
In addition to paying what you can out of pocket and fundraising, we also encourage every team member to send letters to their friends and family in order to raise awareness of their trip. In this letter, you may also ask for financial support, but the main focus is prayer support. If you need a sample letter, please get in touch with me.
In order to attend workcampNE 2017, everyone will go through an application process, but the good news is that it is all online! Just click the link below and go through the process to register!
Remember, the deadline to register and turn in your initial $75 is February 14, 2015 (pay online or via check made out to RCC).

RCC is pleased to offer another nine week “Financial Peace University,” course designed to help you pay off debt and make confident plans for your future. This fun video-based course has helped about four million households gain much better control over their finances.
The initial, no-obligation session will be on Sunday, January 22, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Come check it out! You can register in advance online or in the RCC Foyer. It will run until March 19.
Rockingham Christian Church is turning 15 years old!
Help us celebrate by being a part of ONE big gathering on Sunday morning, November 13, at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center, just off Exit 3.
Doors will open at 10:00 AM for a continental breakfast, and the worship gathering will begin at 10:30, ending at approximately 11:45.
Let’s celebrate the past and anticipate an even greater future together. And be sure to invite your ONE to join us!
Anyone and everyone is invited!
(Note: This will be in place of our usual 3 worship gatherings at 5 Industrial Way.)
RCC’s stated mission is “meeting people where they are and helping them follow Jesus.” We try to do that in our everyday lives, especially by praying for one. It’s a simple strategy that puts us in alignment with how God might want to use us each day to reach out and love others. Maybe, though, you’ve been wanting to do more… If so, here are two opportunities you may want to pursue!

Kenya Mission Trip
July 18 – August 2, 2017
RCC is heading back to Nairobi, Kenya, to serve another two weeks in the Mathare Valley slums with Missions of Hope! By simply coming and opening yourself up to service during this week, you will experience God working in tremendous ways! The first informational meeting is Sunday October, 30, immediately following the 11:30 worship gathering at RCC. Feel free to contact Steven and Gail Martin, trip leaders, with any questions (their contact info is in the RCC mobile app on the event page for this trip)!

BONUS: Serve at SST on October 29!
Mission trips are great, and we will always do them here at RCC, but it’s also important for us to serve those right in our backyard. Serving Salem Together is all about that! This year, our Grow Groups are heading out together on Saturday, October 29, to serve others by raking leaves, cleaning gutters, and doing minor home repair for our neighbors. If you’re not in a Grow Group yet, please contact Andy Glass to get placed in a group for SST 2016!
SST 2016 is October 29, where we are taking a different approach to serving our neighbors. Our goal is to connect with them, so we want to create opportunities to Love the Lonely, Empower the Poor, Embrace the Orphans, and Love those who are different than ourselves (see our “How to Neighbor” worship series for more info on these topics).
How is this going to happen? This year, instead of organizing everything from the staff level, we are encouraging our adult Grow Groups to ask neighbors if they could can serve them and then do just that on October 29. The number of projects will depend on the needs you find. We are also praying that these families are or will become the One you are praying for on a regular basis. Once your group decides on a project, please let me know. And if you need help, just ask!
A couple weeks ago, our Grow Groups discussed Loving the Lonely, and a question was asked, “Can you think of someone who’s lonely? What are some practical ways we can act like Jesus and love them?” Our goal is to help provide some practical ways to serve and connect with neighbors.
We are not asking you to do major projects. We want opportunities to clean yards and some small chores. Also, please remember to pick projects that all ages can do together. When your Grow Group goes out to serve on October 29, bring your kids along. There is nothing like serving God side-by-side! Believe me!
Here is the plan for that Saturday: Start your projects by 9:00 AM, and finish them up by 3:30 PM or so. Then, return to the building by 4:30 for a time of worship and a meal. Make sure to invite those you serve to also join you for the evening celebration!
Please sign up in the foyer or use the application below, fill out the volunteer sheet, and return it to me. If you have a neighbor you want to help or want another group to help, please let me know!
(Online applications coming soon…)
Rockingham Christian Church is planning to send a mission team to the Dominican Republic next year! The dates are February 25 through March 4 (NH school break week). The team will be partnering with an excellent ministry called Go Ministries.
This will be a multi-generational experience; anyone middle school or older is invited to apply. Parents and their children are especially encouraged to participate together. All applicants will be asked to go through a screening process to assess readiness.
Interested? If so, plan to come to one of our informational meetings:
Sunday, July 17, 1:30 PM or Wednesday, August 3, 7:00 PM
Meanwhile, please indicate your level of interest to any RCC staff member.

This is always a highlight of the summer for every family that attends. It’s a great time to get to know each other better, let the children play together, build lasting bonds, take pictures of people with morning bedhead, enjoy campfires, and share meals — just enjoying the beauty of God’s creation and making memories together.
This camp offers a brand new pool with water slides, nearby hiking trails up Mount Monadnock, fishing, kayak rentals, and nice wooded campsites. Check it out at: http://www.sevenmaples.com
Please send Gail Martin an email once you’ve made your reservation, so she can plan on your participation and send you future email communication!
Because of the ongoing Salem High School renovations, we unfortunately don’t have suitable space available for Camp Create this year. Even though we know many of you are sad to hear that (we are too!), we still have exciting plans for community events!
This summer, we are hosting a Community Game Quest!
Each of the two events will involve life-size games for your entire household (mom, dad, kids, teens, grandparents), songs and skits with the XKL crew, a live band, food, and a ton of fun! To add to the fun, your household can even wear a team color or uniform!
The cost will only be $15 per household, but if you buy a ticket to give to a non-RCC family, that will only be $10 more! Even better, if you want to get two tickets to give away, the second one is only $5. Begin now to think about and pray for ONE whom you can invite to be a part of these events!
July 13 @ Rockingham Christian Church
August 17 @ T.B.D.
Both events will run from 6:00-9:00 PM.
We will begin ticket sales and have more information on Sunday, June 5, including the location for our August event!
