The first time your family worships at RCC, you are invited to register your children at the Family Ministry kiosk. Someone will be there to greet you, answer your questions and give you the family registration form. Once you have completed the form, you and your children will be directed to the age-appropriate classrooms. While children are welcome to sit in the adult worship service with their parents, we strongly encourage you to have your children participate in Kidz Rock. Both you and your child will get more out of your experience at RCC if you do this. While separation anxiety is very common among young children, they quickly move beyond it when they experience the fun activities in Kidz Rock and they learn the routine of drop-off and pick-up.
Sunday morning Kidz Rock groups are broken down into 4 age groups and are learning the following:
- Infants & Toddlers (Ages 6 weeks through 2 years): Inciting Wonder in the hearts of our youngest children at the facts that God made them and loves them. Infants and toddlers are cared for in a warm and friendly environment giving them first positive impression of God and His Church.
- Preschool (Ages 3 years through 5 years): Continuing to incite Wonder through these 3 basic truths: God made me, God loves me and Jesus was to be my friend forever. Each month a new basic truth, bottom line and memory verse is taught through Bible stories, songs, activities, play and snack time. The children are taught by adults and teenagers who are making a long-term investment in the lives of these preschoolers.
- Elementary (2 groups: K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grades): Provoking Discovery in the heart of children through these basic truths: I can trust God no matter what, I need to make the Wise Choice, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated. Each month a new virtue, bottom line and memory verse is taught through Bible stories, games, activities and discussions. The children are lead by small group leaders who are making a long-term investment in a small group of children. This helps give parents another voice saying the same things they are saying about God and life and makes the message even more credible.
Parent Cue: At RCC, we believe what happens at home is more important than what happens at church. We consider Kidz Rock a launching pad where Bible stories and basic truths are taught and experienced in new and fun ways, so that parents (who are a child’s greatest teacher) can continue these discussions through out the week. We work hard to give parents all the tools they need to be the spiritual leaders of their children. One way we do this is through the Parent Cue sent home monthly for each age group and by parents downloading and using the Parent Cue App on their smart phone (Download Android App / Download iPhone/iPod/iPad App).
