What does Jesus say about Himself?

1. I am from Heaven.

38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” _ Jesus | John 6:38-41

2. I am not a good man. I am God.

As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. _ Mark 10:17-18

3. I am the Son of Man.

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. _ Daniel 7:13-14

——-

But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again, the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”

“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as worthy of death. _ Mark 14:61-64

4. If you don’t believe my words, watch my actions.

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. _ Jesus | John 5:21

5. I am God.

I and the Father are one.” _ Jesus

Again, his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” _ John 10:30-33

In the beginning was the Word, and the WORD WAS WITH GOD, and the Word was God. _ John 1:1

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. _ Colossians 2:9

6. I am sinless, and I can forgive your sin.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things?” _ Mark 2:5-8

“I can forgive your sin. I would like to spend eternity with you. Would you like that too?” _ Jesus

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it gocollapsed, and its destruction was complete.” _ Luke 6:46-49

The Divinity of Jesus is an invitation to experience the Lordship of Jesus.
